2015 Movie Preview – Part 3

Film Mention’s 2015 Movie Preview continues! Not much is known about the films being released from September to December but we do know that these movie are going to take on one hell of a ride! We will travel to Panem one last time, the wild west, the return of an animated classic and we will journey back to a galaxy far, far away. The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials – September 18, 2015

After a huge success with ‘The Maze Runner’, Fox is releasing a sequel based off of the best selling series for young adults called ‘The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’. The first movie saw the gladers escape the maze but ‘Scorch Trials’ is sure to cause more trouble for them. The movie stars Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario and Patricia Clarkson.

Hotel Transylvania 2 – September 25, 2015

Three years after we first visited Hotel Transylvania, we will journey back this September when ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ come out. Not much is known about the plot but surely we will be taken back to the hotel where monsters go to stay. This will be the perfect movie for families to go to instead of the horror movies of October.

London Has Fallen – October 2, 2015

After Washington, D.C. was attacked in 2013’s ‘Olympus Has Fallen’, it looks like it’s London’s turn. In ‘London Has Fallen’ the world’s leaders gather in the British capital after the unexpected death of the Prime Minister. What beings as one of the most secure places in the world, a plot quickly unfolds to kill the worlds leaders. This movie stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Melissa Leo.

The Jungle Book – October 9, 2015

Just like with ‘Maleficent’ and ‘Cinderella’, Disney is remaking another of its classic animated films – ‘The Jungle Book’. The Jon Favreau directed film has an all-star cast consisting of Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyongo’o and Christopher Walken.

Crimson Peak – October 16, 2015

This October, Guillermo Del Toro returns to scare us once again with ‘Crimson Peak’. The film tells the story of a young author who discovers that her husband is not what he seems and that he is hiding many secrets. If Toro isn’t enough for you to go see this movie, its cast consisting of Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska will.

Spectre – November 6, 2015

James Bond will once again face up against one of his greatest foes, the SPECTRE terrorist organization. After the massive success of ‘Skyfall’, the Bond brand is at an all time high so ‘Spectre’ is going to be a must see film in 2015. ‘Spectre’ sees Daniel Craig return as James bond and Christoph Waltz star as the villian, Franz Oberhauser. Rounding out the cast is Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomi Harris, Dave Bautista, and Ben Whishaw.

The Peanuts Movie – November 6, 2015

In their first movie in 35 years, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and their friends all return to the big screen. The film will commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip and also the 50th anniversary of the iconic tv special ‘A Charlie Brown’s Christmas’.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 – November 20, 2015

Katniss’ story comes to a close next November with the release of the final film in The Hunger Games franchise. ‘Mockingjay Part 2’ picks off where Part 1 left off and we will see what becomes of Katniss, Peeta, Disctrict 13 and the Capital.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – December 18, 2015

This time next year, we will be journeying back to a galaxy far, far away in the J.J. Abrams directed ‘Star Wars: The Force Awaken’. Disney is keeping very tight lipped on the story so not much is known about the film except for the cast and some of the character’s names. This films sees the return of Star Wars originals Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamel along with newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyongo’o and Oscar Isaac.

Mission: Impossible 5 – December 25, 2015

Next Christmas, Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in his fifth Mission Impossible movie. Nothing is known about the plot of the film yet but currently Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin and Simon Pegg are all signed on to star.

The Hateful Eight – December 25, 2015

After finding huge success in the wild west with ‘Django Unchained’, Quentin Tarantino returns back their with ‘The Hateful Eight’. After originally scrapping the film after the script leaked onto the internet, Tarantino will release this film centering around bounty hunters in the midwest. The film stars frequent collaborators Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern and Kurt Russell. Also joining the cast is Channing Tatum.
