It was announced yesterday that the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ adaptation will be rated R when it is released on Valentine’s Day this year. Producers must be very happy because they originally feared that the film would get the dreaded NC-17 rating.
The MPAA who grants film rating said that the film received an R rating due to:
"strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language."
The film based is based off of the best selling book about Anastasia Steele who falls for Christian Grey, a rich billionaire with a nonconventional sexual appetite.
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ comes to theaters on February 13, 2015 and stars Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Luke Grimes, Marcia Gay Harding and Rita Ora. The film is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
