Tom Hardy Drops Out of ‘Suicide Squad’

It was announced today that actor Tom Hardy has dropped out of the upcoming superhero film ‘Suicide Squad’. Based off of the DC Comic, Hardy would have played Rick Flag alongside Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margo Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevigne.

Rumor has is that Tom Hardy left the project due to filming running longer than expected on his new film and his upcoming promo tour for ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. The Wrap is also reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal is set to replace Hardy but nothing has been confirmed.

The film is about a group of villains who are given a second chance in the form of a mission. The spin though is that they aren’t expected to survive this missions, hence ‘Suicide Squad’.

‘Suicide Squad’ comes to theaters August 5th, 2016 and stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis. The film is directed by David Ayer.
