Despite reports that the original cast will be featured in the next trailer, new reports are claiming that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill won’t be featured in any of the advertising for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
A reporter from /film is claiming that Disney and LucasFilm are going with original plans not to feature the original cast in advertising for the upcoming film to focus more energy on introducing new characters. The advertising is expected to rely more heavily on newcomers to the franchise Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver and unknown characters played by Lupita Nyongo’o, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.
In addition to wanting to introduce audiences to these new characters, the filmmakers also claim that the new series isn’t about the original characters. They are also wishing to maintain an air of mystery about the films.
Rumors claim that the next Star Wars trailer is set to debut along with ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ when it is released on May 1. As of now, nothing has been confirmed by the filmmakers, Disney, and LucasFilm.
