‘Deadpool’ Casts Morena Baccarin as Female Lead

Morena Baccarin has landed the lead female role in the comic book adaptation, ‘Deadpool’. It is unclear who she will be playing at this time, but her character is rumored to play Wade Wilson’s (Ryan Reynolds) love interest who loves him despite his disfigured face.

Morena was always believed to be the front runner for the role, beating out other actresses such as Taylor Schilling (Orange Is The New Black), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Reb Band Society) and Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf).

‘Deadpool’ is about an assassin who’s procedure to cure his cancer causes him t become scared and disfigured. On the flip side, this botched procedure gives him super powers. The Deadpool comics are known for the way Wade Wilson talks directly to the reader and his sarcasm.

‘Deadpool’ comes to theaters February 12, 2016 and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano. The film is directed by Tim Miller.
