Kristen Stewart made film history tonight, becoming the first American actress to win a César Award. She won Best Supporting Actress (Meilleure actrice dans un second rôle) for her role in the French film ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’.

The César Award is the French equivalent of the Oscars. When accepting her award, she praised fellow cast member Juliette Binoche, saying:

“Juliette, thank you. I’m standing in front of a room of people that I don’t need to tell about the power of Juliette Binoche. You can stand in front of her, everything that was happening to me in that film was just me reflecting her,”

She also praised the film’s director Olivier Assayas and one of the film’s producers Charles Gillibert.
Congratulations Kristen!
