In an interview with Empire Magazine, Miles Teller speaks about his role as Reed Richards in the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot.
He doesn’t explain the science behind his character but says that he attempted to learn the meaning of the scientist jargon. He compared his characters experiences to that of a teenage boy going through puberty:
“If he’s this gummy guy slinging around, it looks ridiculous. What does that feel like for a young guy, to have no control over his body?”
The actor also talked about interacting with the advisors on set and how he is making the character just as smart in the movie as he is in the comics.
“It was good talking with our advisors on set, whether it’s the quantum physics stuff or biomechanics. I always want to know enough about the stuff before I say it. But I’m on layman’s terms with the science. I’m a layman’s Reed Richards!”
‘The Fantastic Four’ comes to theaters August 7th, 2015 and stars Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson, Reg E. Cathey. The film is directed by Josh Trank.
