First Image of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in ‘Snowden’

Open Road has released the first photo of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as whistleblower Edward Snowden in the Oliver Stone directed film ‘Snowden’.

The photo below shows Snowden when he was a member of the U.S. Army, before he revealed the information that the NSA was spying on Americans.

The film is currently filming in Munich and will move to other locations around the world later this year. ‘Platoon’ director Oliver Stone is directing from a script written co-written by himself and Kieran Fitzgerald. The screenplay is adapted from Luke Harding’s “The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” and a book written by Snowden’s Russian lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena called “Time of the Octopus”.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt posted a photo on Twitter earlier today from the set of the film.

‘Snowden’ comes to theaters December 25, 2015 and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Olyphant, Rhys Ifans and Joely Richardson. The film is directed by Oliver Stone.
