‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director, producer and writer James Gunn, revealed that the story treatment for the sequel is complete, with work on the script set to commence next week.
In a Q&A with Periscope (VIA Screen Rant), Gunn revealed that he has handed in the treatment for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ and will begin working on the script next week.
“I turned in my treatment. I’m going in to meet about it Friday and we will start working on the screenplay next week.”
Marvel is said to have approved the treatment and loved what Gunn has said is a “risky” story, calling the pitch “best experience [I] ever had.” He also mentioned the the pre-draft script is far along and already has about 70 pages of material. In the Q&A, he said that he likes to map out the entire story first before starting the actual script.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 comes to theaters May 5th, 2017 and stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista.
