According to the always reliable Latino Review, ‘Ender’s Game’ and ‘Hugo’ star Asa Butterfield has been cast as Spider-Man in the Marvel and Sony remake.
Butterfield’s reps have entered into negotiations with the studio. According to sources at Latino Review, they are not aware of the fine details of the deal but Marvel has already confirmed that Spider-Man will appear in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ which is currently in production.
Asa Butterfield does seem to fit the bill of what Marvel and Sony are looking for in their Peter Parker. It has been widely reported that the studios are looking to cast a younger actor so that they can portray a much younger Peter Parker/Spider-Man than in previous adaptations.
