Allan Quatermain is about to be put back in action because 20th Century Fox is rebooting 2003’s supernatural film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I, Robot producer John Davis will produce the remake through his Davis Entertainment production company.
The reboot will be overseen by Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly and will feature victorian-era characters such as Mina Harker, Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde who team up to save te world. The first 2003 film and the reboot are based on Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s graphic novel of the same name.
Before this reboot, the League was originally going to be featured in a TV show. The show went into development at Fox in 2013 but was received a series order.
The last time that filmgoers saw these cast of characters was in 2003’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which featured Sean Connery in his last major role before retiring. The film grossed $180 million during its run.
