Fellow X-Men alum, Patrick Stewart, revealed in an interview that he will not be returning for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ but that Ian McKellen will be reprising his role as Magneto in the film. In the interview conducted by Oregon Live, the British actor had this to say:
“Yes, I understand that it seems to be very unlikely that I will be in the next X-Men movie, which is almost getting ready to start shooting in Montreal. But Magneto, Ian McKellen, is certainly going to be in it.”
The film is set to begin shooting this April in Montreal and as of yet, the news has been unconfirmed by 20th Century Fox. If McKellen is a part of the film, he will be joining the First Class cast, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence, as well as new comers Channing Tatum, Oscar Isaac, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan.
‘X-Men: Apocolpyse’ comes to theaters on May 27, 2016 and stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Channing Tatum, Tye Sheridan and Ian McKellen. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
After being pushed back nearly a year, the space opera ‘Jupiter Ascending’ has finally been released in theaters. Directed, produced and written by sci-fi royalty, The Wachowskis, ‘Jupiter Ascending’ would be more appropriately titled ‘Jupiter Descending’ due to its cheap gimmicks, mediocre acting and a redundancy that is painful to sit through.
With all its flaws, this film showcases visual effects as large as its scope and the creation of a world that is a wonder to behold. The film boasts a cast of ascending stars such as Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis and current Oscar nominee, Eddie Redmayne.
For such an expensive movie ($175 million to be exact), ‘Jupiter Ascending’ plays more like a Sci-Fi channel original movie, than a Hollywood blockbuster; starting with a fizzle and ending with a big fizzle.

It’s official!! Fox has finally given the hotly anticipated X-Men spin-off ‘Gambit’ and official release date of October 7, 2016. Based off of the very popular Marvel comic, Channing Tatum will be portraying the titular character. It is also rumored that the character will be introduced in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ which comes out a few months before the stand alone film does.
The announcement of the official release date is also accompanied by news that Fox is shifting many release dates for its films. The upcoming ‘Planet of the Apes 3’ has been pushed back nearly a year to July 14, 2017 and the adaptation of the popular video game ‘Assassin’s Creed’ is set for December 21, 2016. Also you can expect a third X-Men based film when the Deadpool movie comes to theaters in February 2016.
Fox’s films are up against some very stiff competition in their current release dates. ‘Gambit’ will have to compete against ‘Monster High’ which is based off of a popular Mattel toy and ‘Live By Night’ which stars Ben Affleck. ‘Assassin’s Creed’ will also have to compete against the as of yet Untitled Star Wars spin-off which debuts a week before it. Also the film will have to compete against Christmas Day releases which are always very anticipated.
Also audience’s may be all superheroed-out by the time ‘Gambit’ is released. Currently, the two X-Men themed movies debut before it, along with ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’, ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’, and ‘Suicide Squad’. Other superhero movies being released after ‘Gambit’ are ‘Doctor Strange’ and ‘The Sinister Six’.
‘Gambit’ arrives in theaters on October 7, 2016 and stars Channing Tatum.
Olympic gold medalist wrestler Mark Schultz who is played by Channing Tatum in the film ‘Foxcatcher’ took to Twitter today to blast the film and its director Bennet Miller.
The film which is about John Du Pont (Steve Carrell) hiring accomplished wrestlers Mark Schultz and Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo) to train wrestlers and swimmers for the olympics. It also details the murder of Dave Schutz at the hands of Du Pont.
This outburst is surprising since just last week he voiced his love for the film and the director. Schultz has since deleted the tweets but fear not, here they are for your viewing pleasure!
YOU CROSSED THE LINE MILLER. WE’RE DONE. YOU’RE CAREER IS OVER. YOU THINK I CAN’T DO IT. WATCH ME.
