Patrick Stewart in Talks to Star in ‘Wolverine 3’

In the same interview that he revealed that Ian McKellen will be in X-Men: Apocalypse, Patrick Stewart also revealed that he is in talks to star in ‘Wolverine 3’. Little is known of the project right now, but Hugh Jackman is expected to return as the character. Patrick Stewart had this to say in an interview with Oregon Live:

“What I’m very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together. Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of X-Men from the four movies that I’ve already done.”

Due to the timeline change at the end of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, this movie could set up the ending of Future Past. Also this brings into question whether of not Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden and many other X-Men originals will be returning as well.

‘Wolverine 3’ comes to theaters on March 3rd, 2017 and stars Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by James Mangold.

The film is set to begin shooting this April in Montreal and as of yet, the news has been unconfirmed by 20th Century Fox. If McKellen is a part of the film, he will be joining the First Class cast, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence, as well as new comers Channing Tatum, Oscar Isaac, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan.
